Overview
How about an island that offers both adventure & relaxation?
That's Nisyros! Only 1 hour from the port of Kardamena, Nisyros is the perfect getaway.
On the one hand, the volcano, a sleeping-yet active volcano, transfers you to a dreamy lunar landscape with the earth bubbling under your feet. Going down to one of the biggest hydrothermal craters in the world, crater Stephanos, 300 m in diameter, will be an unforgettable experience for adventure seekers. The smell of sulphuretted hydrogen which everyone compares to the smell of “rotten eggs”, the sense that the thermal air that comes out of the crater holes (fumaroles) will melt your shoe soles, and the colours, especially sulphur-yellow, compose an image that should be on everyone’s bucket list.
